Wayne Francis King

March 21, 1966 — February 4, 2021

Dr Seuss said, “To the world you may be one person: but to one person you may be the world.” Wayne King passed away on February 4, 2021 at the age of 54. Throughout his life he impacted many lives with his infectious positivity, fun-loving personality, and the love and care he demonstrated everyday through his unselfish actions. He meant the world to his wife, Julie (Parker) King; son Brock King and wife Stacy Gallant, son Bryar King and fiancee Louanne Deblois, and granddaughter Karen King.

He was born in Franklin on March 21, 1966 and adopted into the loving family of Russell and Theresa King in Berlin, NH and raised with siblings Brian King, Sandra King and Brenda (King) Stewart. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1984 and served in the NH Army National Guard beginning in 1983. Later in life, Wayne reconnected with his biological mother, Alma Wojna, of Torrington, CT, and was happy to find that he had other siblings: a sister, Linda Orde of New Hartford, CT, whom he shared a strong bond with immediately, and half-siblings, Terry Kincaid and Stanley Wojna, both from CT as well.

There was no greater joy to Wayne than spending time with his sons, especially playing and watching sports. He coached their baseball teams for many years in the Cal Ripken league. He worked for the NH Department of Transportation for 18 years before moving on to the restaurant world and even car sales for a few years while also earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. It is then that he found his true calling as an educator, starting his career at White Mtn Regional High School as a Special Education teacher and later moving to Gorham Middle High School to serve as the Dean of Students and most recently, as the Director of Special Services for SAU 20. Wayne found great reward in supporting, coaching and motivating students.

Though short, life was full for Wayne. He and Julie enjoyed 37 years of adventure and true love. Although he leaves behind many family, friends, students and colleagues that will miss him like crazy, we are comforted to know that through his death, others will find new life with the donation of his organs.

Though we wish we could gather ALL who wish to celebrate his life, due to the pandemic, we will honor Wayne through a private Celebration of Life at 6 PM on Monday, February 8, 2021. This event will be made available to all who wish to view it at www.facebook.com/bryantfuneralhomes. For condolences and online guestbook please visit www.bryantfuneralhome.net

Kindness, caring, laughing and loving were such an important part of Wayne’s life every day. In lieu of flowers, cards and other gifts, Julie, Brock and Bryar ask that you instead perform an act of kindness or make someone’s day by sharing a smile and some laughter.
