Wayne C. Thompson, 68, of Berlin, NH passed away on Wednesday May 1, 2013 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Berlin on March 4, 1945 the son of Clarence and Alice (Olmstead) Thompson and was a lifelong resident. Wayne graduated from Berlin High School with the Class of 1963, where he was the Class Vice-President and he graduated from the Vocational Technical Institute. He served with the US Marine Corps from 1963-1967, where he was on the front line during the Vietnam War. Wayne was employed by the Berlin Water Works Dept. for many years and retired as Assistant Superintendent. Wayne was a member of the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the CPL Richard Demers Marine Corps League and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He had wintered in Florida for several years. Members of the family include his wife Mary Lee (Gunn) Thompson of Berlin; daughter Samantha Patry and husband Mark of Berlin; son Shawn Thompson of Berlin; grandchildren Danica Patry and Emilee Patry; brothers Chester Thompson of Florida and Sam Paquette and wife Penny of Concord; sisters Louise Durant of Errol and Janet Bouchard of Berlin; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Rose and Amedee Paquette and a brother Richard Paquette. Funeral Services will be held on Monday May 6, 2013 at 10 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will be the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5 to 7 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the local Toys for Tots Program through the Marine Corps League, C/O Gilles Laramee, 689 Kent St. Berlin, NH 03570.
