Violet S. Toth

Mrs. Violet S. Toth, 90, formerly of 19 Wilson Street, Gorham, NH passed away on Friday December 12, 2008 at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin. She was born in Gorham, NH on June 6, 1918 the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Errington) Stephenson and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was Salutorian of her class at Gorham High. She was employed by the Town of Gorham, retiring from the Water Department. She had been the Treasurer of the White Mountain League, a member of the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC, a member of the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion Auxiliary, a former member of the White Mountain Riding Club, a member of the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW Auxiliary, Past President of the NH Tax Collectors Association, had been Treasurer of the White Mountain Riding Club and served as the Treasurer of the Mt. Washington Horse Show Circuit. Members of the family include 1 son Michael Toth of Gorham, NH; grandchildren Christina Binette of Randolph, NH, Catherine Drouin of Milan, NH and Michael T. Toth of New York, NY; a brother Harry Stephenson and wife Marie of Portland, ME; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Toth in 1997. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday afternoon, December 17, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the Mt. Hayes Cemetery in Gorham. There will be no calling hours.
