Victor D. Lavoie

Victor D. Lavoie, 80, of Gorham, NH passed away at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester on Tuesday February 19, 2013. He was born in Cascade-Gorham on November 21, 1932 the son of late Dennis and Melvina (Guerin) Lavoie. On June 22, 1960, he married Frances (Caron) Eichler and they were happily married for 53 years. Victor worked for Brown Company and then served 2 years in the Army in Korea. Vic went back to Brown Company and retired from Crown Vantage in January of 1995. Victor was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his camp. He loved visiting with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Frances Lavoie of Gorham; six sons Rick Eichler and wife Karen, Jan Eichler and wife Pam, Michael Lavoie, James Lavoie and Kenneth Lavoie and wife Nora; daughter Marie Eames; grandchildren Rick Dustin Eichler and wife Tracy, Craig Eichler, Raymond Eames and wife Angela, Jay Tonkin and Kenneth Lavoie, Heidi Eichler, Beth Eichler and fiancee Jon Lapointe and Lauren Eames; great-grandsons Isaiah Chamberlin, Aiden and Cameron Eames and Isaac Dustin-Eichler; step-grandsons Reed Kennard and Neil Valarius and step granddaughter Alysia Nelson and husband Carl; many cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Bernadette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday February 26, 2013 at 10 AM at Holy Family Church in Gorham. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Lazarus Ministry, c/o Shirley Bourque-Poulin or to a local Special Olympic organization.
