Verna Esther Marois, formerly of Glen Avenue and Success Street died late Wednesday evening (July 14, 2010) at Coos County Nursing Home. She was 89.

Born on March 17, 1921 in Berlin, NH, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Leona (Ouellette) Clinch.

Verna attended local schools and was a 1939 graduate of Berlin High School.

On September 28, 1940, she married Philippe Marois at St. Kieran's Church in Berlin by the Rev. Walsh.

She was a homemaker and served assistant director at the Holiday Center for 10 years.

Over the years, she was a member of many community organizations including: The Golden Age Club, Mesh, RSVP for 25 years, St. Anne's Social Club, Merrymakers singing group, and the Duplicate Bridge Club. She was an avid bingo player and she also enjoyed crocheting and knitting hats for St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Shop.

Besides her parents, she is pre-deceased by her husband Philippe Marois (May 30, 2006) A sister Pearl Rousseau and a brother Raymond Clinch.

She is survived by her two daughters Gloria Ward and her husband Paul of Salem, Mass And Laureen Poulin and her husband Roger of Berlin, NH

A son Daniel Marois and his wife Denise Boucher of Poland, ME

Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, July 17 in the parlor of Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St., Berlin, NH. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Berlin, NH.

Calling hours will be held from 11am to 1pm Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. (Use School Street entrance).
