Valada J. "Buck" Buckovitch

Valada J. Buckovtich, of Berlin, NH passed away on Sunday March 17, 2013 at his home, the day after his 95th birthday. He was born in Windsor, VT on March 16, 1918 the son of James and Vera Buckovitch and moved to Berlin at a young age. He graduated from Berlin High and was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Valada had been employed as a boiler operator at Brown Company and was a member of the Orthodox Church of the Holy Resurrection. Members of the family include his wife Germaine (Villeneuve) Buckovitch of Berlin; children Linda Welch and husband Jim of Milan, Gail Bisson and companion Dick Bergquist of Berlin, Alan Buckovitch of Berlin, Nancy Riendeau and husband Donald of Gorham and Lisa LaRoche and husband Brett of Norman, OK; 3 grandchildren Michael Bisson and wife Lynn of Berlin, Shawna Kozacka and husband Joshua of Madison and Joey Riendeau and companion Lyndsey Salvatore of Berlin; 7 great-grandchildren Shayla Bisson, Ryayvin Bisson, Jayden Bisson, Drayke Bisson, Mavrik Riendeau, Vedder Riendeau and Harper Kozacka; siblings Sophia Morrell and husband Gerald, Tanya Chapin, Eva Silva and husband Charlie, Lydia Winchel and Paul Buckovitch. He was predeceased by siblings Tony Buckovitch and Claudia Pelkus. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday March 26, 2013 at 11 AM at the Orthodox Church of the Holy Resurrection, 20 Petrograd St., Berlin. Interment will be in the Russian City Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to the Orthodox Church of the Holy Resurrection, 20 Petrograd St., Berlin, NH, 03570. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
