Theodore Ted Falardeau, 82, passed away on Sunday January 18, 2009 at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation for North Conway of complications after a two year battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. He was born in Berlin, NH on January 7, 1927 the son of the late Theodore and Irene (Benoit) Falardeau . He attended St. Patrick Grammar School and graduated from Berlin High School in 1945. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving as an MP in Germany. Upon his return to Berlin, he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. For sixteen years, he worked in the Engineering Dept. of Brown Company. He spent another sixteen years as the Plant Engineer at Converse Rubber Shoe Company until it closed, before moving to Sanford, ME. Following his retirement from the Augat Manufacturing Co. in Sanford, ME, he and his wife, Priscilla, moved to Tamworth, NH. They spent many years RVing up and down the East Coast, wintering in FL. Ted was a Lifetime Member of the Ryan-Scammon Post #36 American Legion and the White Mountain Post #2520 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Ted was an entrepreneur. He and Priscilla, with their son, Thomas, owned and operated the Anchor Motel in South Portland, ME for several years. Ted was also an avid hunter, taxidermist, wood worker and inventor in his younger years. He would often design and craft his own tools or parts for work, home and others. He could fix anything. He loved to play cards and board games with his family and friends. He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Priscilla, of Tamworth, NH; three children Evelyn and her husband Terrance Bale of Apalachin, NY, George and his companion Debbie Fortier of Berlin, NH, and Anne and her husband Patrick Swanson of Sugarloaf Key, FL; eight grandchildren, Kathryn Bale and her husband Michael Estrella of St. Albans, VT, Steven Bale of Apalachin, NY, Stacey, Nathan and Trisha Falardeau of Berlin, NH, Thomas, Shelbi and Sydni Swanson of Sugarloaf Key, FL; three great-grandchildren Louis and Gabrielle Estrella and Landyn Croteau; several cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by a son Thomas. The family would like to thank to staff at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, Saco Medical in Conway and Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation for North Conway for their care and concern over the years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday January 24, 2009 at 11 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Russian City Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Teds memory to the Tamworth Community Nurse Association, 84 Main St., Tamworth, NH, 03886 or to a charity of ones choice.
