Rose Philippon, 98, of Gorham, NH passed away on Monday January 20, 2014 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. Mrs. Philippon was born in Conner, Maine on April 12, 1915, a daughter of Oneil and Odelie (Cote) Dubay. She grew up in the Caribou-Connor, ME area and attended grade school there up until the 4th grade. Prior to and during WWII, she worked in the Biddeford and Portland area and she was also a welder on Liberty Ships in the Portland Shipyards. On May 30, 1947, she married Roger Philippon of Gorham, NH and there after resided in Gorham for the rest of her life where she worked in area restaurants. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Gorham, the NH #57 Gorham TOPS Club for over 30 years and was its oldest member and she was also a 30 year member of KOPS and she never lost her status. Family members include a son Charles Oneal Philippon and his wife Anne Marie Doucette of Bowie, MD, a daughter Mary Odelie Gendron and her husband Robert of Gorham, NH, two grandchildren, Robert Gendron II of Littleton, NH and Judy Rosalma Gendron of Winooski, VT, her siblings Annette Bloom of Newington, CT, Lena Richards of Newington, CT and Blanche Dubay (Sister Mary Regis) of Chicago, IL, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Roger Alphonse Philippon, her siblings, Leo Dubay, Ida Beaulieu, Marie Theriault, Corrine Thibodeau, Gertrude Dubay and Anne Savage. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday January 23, 2014 at 1 PM at Holy Family Church in Gorham. Interment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St, Gorham on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM.
