Ronald I. Vachon of Elm Street in Gorham passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 at home. He was 70.

Born on September 1, 1941 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of Walter and Antoinette (Bagley) Vachon

Ronald attended Gorham Schools.

On May 16, 1966 he married Ritchie Hayes and together they raised a son and a daughter.

Ronald served his country in the Air Force during Vietnam. For many years he was employed at Wildcat Ski area. In 1994 he went to work for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation Highway Department Pinkham Notch garage and retired in 2009. He also worked for the Town of GorhamPolice Department.

He was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Gorham.

Over the years, he and his wife enjoyed raising German Shepherds.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Ritchie on October 5, 2009, two brothers Royden and Jeffrey Vachon and a sister Marilyn Fauteux.

Survivors include his son Craig Vachon and his wife Linda of Gorham, NH, a daughter Kim O'Brien and her husband James of Gorham, NH, four grandchildren Adam, Mallory and Brandon O'Brien and Ryan Vachon and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 1, at Holy Family Church in Gorham. Rev. Mark Dollard will officiate. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Gorham. Calling hours will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, August, 31, 2012 at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 33 Exchange Street in Gorham, NH.
