Romeo G Dupuis

Romeo G. Dupuis, Sr., of Pershing Avenue passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at his home following a period of declining health due to Parkinson's Disease. He was 84.

Born on March 26, 1930 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of Thomas and Beatrice (Fillion) Dupuis.

A lifelong resident of Berlin, he attended Angel Guardian, St. Patrick's, and Victoriaville, P.Q. Schools.

In 1948, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy, assigned to the Seabees and served in Greenland and Cuba. During his Navy Career, he was designed a Blue Nose for crossing the Artic Circle. He was honorably discharged in 1952.

Returning from the Navy, he became employed at Brown Company in Berlin and retired from James River Corporation in 1992 following 40 years of service as a certified welder.

On August 20, 1956, he married Jacquelyn L. Croteau of Berlin. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage and together they raised six children.

Romeo was an avid golfer and enjoyed baseball, hunting, fishing and especially watching his grandchildren play hockey. He was an avid Red Sox and Montreal Canadian's fan.

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by two brothers Lucien and Raymond Dupuis and two sisters Jeannette Gilbert and Lorraine Boussaneault.

He leaves his wife of 58 years Jacquelyn L. Dupuis, three sons Romeo Dupuis, Jr and wife Catherine of Manchester, NH, David Dupuis and wife Theresa of Broken Arrow, OK, and Mark Dupuis of Berlin, NH., three daughters Cynthia Gagne and husband Michael of Berlin, NH, Suzanne West of Broken Arrow, OK, and Rosemarie Clark and husband Stacy of Millinocket, ME, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There are no services scheduled. Burial will be private at St. Kieran's Cemetery.
