Roland Thibault, 96, of Prospect Street, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2014 at his home.

Roland was born in Berlin, NH on January 30, 1918 the son of the late Alex and Yvonne (StHilaire) Thibault.

He attended Guardian Angel School in Berlin.

On April 28, 1945 he married Yvette Roberge and together they raised two children, they were married for 53 years until her death on May 12, 1998.

Retiring on January 30, 1981, he worked as a lead millwright for Brown Company/James River Corp in Berlin, NH.

Roland together with several Berliners were activated with the New Hampshire National Guard Battery F from 1939 to 1945. They served in the South Pacific, Australia and jungles of New Guinea.

He was a member of the St Anne's Parish witch later became Good Shepherd parish in Berlin, NH. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

His greatest love was his family. He was a very loving, caring and devoted, husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered for his exceptional woodworking, and millwright skills, and helping anyone who needed him. His greatest enjoyment was time with family and friends.

He is survived by his son Paul and his wife Denise of Milan, NH, daughter Lucille Murphy and husband Henry, granddaughters Elizabeth Murphy O'Brian and her husband Robert and Rebecca Murphy all from Manchester, NH, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Yvette, sisters Mary White and Gabriel Twitchell.

Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street in Berlin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am at St. Anne's Church of Good Shepherd Parish on Saturday March 29, 2014. Burial will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery, Berlin.
