Roland Roy

Mr. Roland J. Roy, 78, of 8416 Arbor Court, Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Monday October 9, 2006 at Shell Hope Hospice Facility in Fort Myers, FL. He was born in Berlin, NH on January 24, 1928 the son of Eugene J. and Laura O. (Gagne) Roy and lived most of his life in Berlin. Mr. Roy had resided in Florida for over 20 years, having moved to Florida in October 1985. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by James River Corporation as an Instrumentation Foreman. Mr. Roy was a member of St. Anne Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish. He retired from the Army National Guard after 30 years of service with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He enjoyed playing tennis. Members of the family include 1 daughter Colette Viola of Rochester, NH; 3 sons Robert Roy of Dayton, OH, Daniel Roy of Berlin, NH and Russell Roy of Newbury, NH; 8 grandchildren Katie Roy, Matthew Roy, Daniel Roy, Megan Roy, Richard Viola, Jaclyn Viola, Brandon Roy and Stephanie Roy; 1 brother Norman Roy of Gorham, NH and 1 sister Theresa Bouchard of Berlin, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Pauline (Quessey) Roy. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning October 13, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant Street, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH on Thursday evening October 12 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
