Roger R Charron

December 11, 1941 — October 30, 2018

Roger R. Charron of Berlin New Hampshire took the long road home on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester New Hampshire. He was 76 years young.

Roger was one of 10 children born on December 11, 1941 to Romeo and Graziella (Grace) (St. Onge) Charron. He attended Saint Josephs School, Berlin high school, and Berlin Vocational College. Roger also received an Honorable Discharge from the Army National Guard after 6 years of Service.

On October 13, 1962, Roger married the love of his life, Dorothy Cecile Letellier, and, after a brief relocation to Exeter NH, they returned home to Berlin, NH and together raised their four children.

In the early years Roger was employed as a laborer and did sheetrock and carpentry work before gaining employment at the local paper mill where he devoted 40 years of service. The last 26 years working in the mill, Roger worked in the Instrumentation department prior to his 2004 retirement.

During his final week of life, Roger had the most precious and meaningful, yet heart wrenching opportunity to say his goodbyes to many of those he cherished. He also had the opportunity to say hello to his infant great grandson, Rowan.

Roger was a hard-working, loyal, devoted, happy go lucky, kind and generous family man. He was a jokester who could find humor and "the bright side" in most situations. To his grandchildren and great grandchildren he was a marshmallow. His contagious smile was never without a twinkle in his eye. Roger was a real life Macgyver, he was a troubleshooter full of solutions and inventions. He was definitely spot on when hed say 'If I can't fix it, it can't be fixed". He was a selfless man always willing to lend a helping hand. He would drop what he was doing at a moments notice to run to the aid of someone in need. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, playing guitar, playing cards, and had a Rubiks cube obsession. But what he loved the most was spending time with family.

Besides his parents, Roger is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; his granddaughter, Jessica Charron Leclerc. His sister, Simonne (Charron) Morissette; and his brother Romeo (Junior) Charron jr.

Roger leaves behind his four children: David Charron of Rumford, Maine; Pamela Charron; Steven Charron & his wife, Jennifer (Peabody); Lorri Charron and her significant other Roland Duchesnaye - all of Berlin NH. Granchildren: Kendra and Kara Parent; Bradley, David Jr, Michael and Heather Charron. Great grandchildren: Heaven (whom he help raise since birth); Roman; Cody; Cailey; Carter; and Rowan. Siblings: Jeanette (Charron) Valliere and husband Richard; Raymond Charron; Maurice (Mutt) Charron and wife Laura; Anne Marie (Charron) Merrow and husband Fred; Laurent (Larry) Charron and wife Gail; Paul Charron and wife Lori; & Marc Charron and wife Kim.

In honor of Roger's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of his life is scheduled for Saturday, August 17, 2019. Family and friends are asked to please save the date, details forthcoming.
