Robertine "Ruby" Barron

Robertine Ruby Barron, 80, of Berlin, passed away on Monday August 25, 2014 at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born in Fort Kent, ME on October 22, 1933 the daughter of Rene and Georgianna (Gagnon) Charette and lived in Berlin most of her life. She was a member of Good Shepherd Parish and was a past President of the St. Kieran Altar Guild. Ruby had been involved in many groups including, the Gorham Womans Club, the RSVP Resident Council, the Senior Meals Site Council, the VFW Post 2520 Auxiliary, the AVH Auxiliary, the Historical Society, the CAP Project Council, the Berlin Housing Authority Resident Council, the United Way, the American-Canadian Association and was a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed reading, working and crossword puzzles. Family includes her daughters Sheila Barron Casey and husband Steve of Salem, NH, Leila Villeneuve and husband Raymond of Berlin, NH and Karen Lanigan and husband Eddie of Laconia, NH; son John Barron, Jr. of Berlin, NH; 6 grandchildren Luke Lanigan, Eric Lanigan, Nicholas Lanigan, Lindsay Barron, Hollee Villeneuve and Shauna Casey; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers Rudolph Charette of Panama City, FL, Wilfred Jandreau and wife Jackie of Panama City, FL and Joel Jandreau and wife Rita of Errol, NH; sisters Winnifred Charette and husband Donald of Fort Kent, ME and Mabeline Saucier and husband Sylvio of Madawaska, ME; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband John Barron, Sr., in 1986, her son Thomas K. Barron in 1989 and sisters Rachel Raymond and Laurette Gingrass. A Memorial Service was held at the St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home on September 2, 2014. Interment was in the St. Kieran Cemetery. The Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
