Robert R. Hayes

Robert R. Hayes, 72, formerly of Berlin, NH passed away on Monday November 19, 2012 at the Riverside Rest Home in Dover. He was born in Berlin on January 1, 1940 the son of Norman and Helen (Story) Hayes and resided in Berlin until 1979, when he moved to Rochester and was there until he entered the Riverside Rest Home in Dover. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran and had been employed by Simplex Wire and Cable. Robert was very involved with Veterans organizations, was an avid hockey fan, especially the UNH Wildcats and the Boston Bruins, and very much enjoyed time spent at Millsfield Pond. Members of the family include his sons Brian Hayes and Barry Hayes, both of Rochester, NH; daughter Kristine Goodrow and husband Mark of Rochester, NH; 7 grandsons Zachary Hayes, Austin Hayes and Brody Hayes of Colorado, Jacob Hayes and John Hayes of Dover, NH and Alan Goodrow and Dana Goodrow of Rochester, NH; brother Norman Hayes and wife Sheila of Berlin, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Ann (Tardiff) Hayes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday November 21, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Wednesday morning from 8 to 9:30 AM, prior to the Mass.
