Robert P Frechette

Robert P. Frechette of First Avenue , Berlin, NH, passed away Tuesday September 28, 2010 at the VA Medical Center Hospital in White River Junction following a long illness. He was 77.

Born on Sept 27, 1933 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of George Louis and Beatrice (Roy) Frechette.

Living in Berlin for most of his life, he was a graduate of Notre Dame High School.

From 1952-1956, he served in the US Air Force as an aircraft welder.

Robert lived most of his life in Berlin.

For fifteen years, he served on the City of Berlin Fire Department as a firefighter and truck driver.

In his younger days, he loved to fish and hunt. He also enjoyed riding around on his scooter, playing cards with his friends. He also spent a lot of quality time with his grandchildren which loved him dearly.

He was a wonderful husband of 29 years to his wife Elaine (Berwick) Frechette.

He also leaves his step-daughter Melanie Sloane and her husband Don of Berlin

And his grandchildren Steven Belanger of Utah, Molly, Cameron, and Alyssa Sloane of Berlin.

He also leaves his granddaughters April and Dawn Frechette of Berlin.

Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Aline (Salvas) Frechette, his only son Donald Frechette who died in April 2010, and a sister Pauline McCready.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Monday, October 4 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd in Berlin. Rev. Mark Dollard will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow at the family plot at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Berlin. Honors will be provided by the Berlin Fire Department and US Air Force.

Calling hours will be from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Sunday, October 3 at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin (Use School St. entrance).
