Mr. Robert M. Corcoran went home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2008. He passed away peacefully at his home with his familys love surrounding him. He was born in Errol, NH on December 28, 1930, to M. Joseph and Leah (Fanjoy) Corcoran. Robert was raised in the Errol, Milan, Dummer and Berlin area, and as a teenager, worked on the Ernie Gould and Robert Glover farms. He went on to serve in the NH National Guard in 1948 and in the early 1950s worked for the Brown Company in Berlin, NH. After marrying Janice Holt on April 28, 1955, they moved to Connecticut and lived there for many years. During that time he worked for TD Bross Line Construction and several different line construction companies all over New England and New York. He started working as a truck driver and eventually became the superintendent. In 1977, he moved his family back to Milan, NH, built his home and resided there until his death. He retired in 1996 from Isaacson Structural Steel and was a former part-time janitor at the Milan Village School, then went on to become the custodian of the Dummer Community Church. Robert was very proud of and took great joy in all of his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing with Janice, loved his dog Jake, his John Deere, loved his church and loved the Lord. He will be remembered for his strength, his quiet love for his wife and family, and his sense of humor. Members of his family include his beloved wife Janice of 53 years, son Martin and his children Kyle Reynolds, Ashley Rose and Justin Corcoran; daughter Brenda Freeland, husband Charles and children Charles and Stephanie, all of Stafford Springs, CT; son Brian, wife Lydia and children Steven and Christina of Dummer; daughter Sharon Fortin, husband James and children Noah and Lilla of Gorham; and son Robert , wife Kelley and children Ashley, Kelsey and Kolby LHeureux of Berlin. Robert also had 5 brothers Chester, Wm. Theo, Mark, Norman and James, and 6 sisters: Charlotte Bolduc, Frances Gallagher, Priscilla Gorton, Helen Corcoran, Jean Hall, and Carol Kilmain. He was also blessed with many brothers and sisters-in-law that were lifelong friends and family, as well as and incredible amount of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Helen. SERVICES: There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2008, at 2:00 PM, at the Dummer Community Church, 11 Hill Rd. in Dummer, NH. Interment will be at the Willis Cemetery in Dummer immediately after. In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes may make a donation in Roberts memory to the Dummer Community Church Building Fund, 11 Hill Rd., Dummer, NH 03588. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Home, Berlin, NH.
