Robert L. Demers

Robert Leo Demers, 87, of Gorham, passed away on July 2, 2018 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Cascade Flats on July 3, 1930 the son of the late Louis and Antoinnette (Morin) Demers and was a lifelong resident of the area. Robert worked at the local paper mill for over 30 years, was a retired member of the Gorham Fire Department and 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed his camp in Wentworth Location, his dogs, and fishing. He loved spending time with his family most of all his grandchildren. Robert liked to tease people but will be remembered for having a kind heart. Members of the family include his children Richard Demers and wife Linda of Cascade, Gorham, Janet Roberge and husband Normand Gordie of West Milan and Patricia Faucher and husband Russell of Berlin; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother Norman Demers and significant other Verlie of Gorham; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by son Michael, daughter-in-law Diane, brothers Peter and Ernest and by a sister Annette Nadeau. He was predeceased by his wife Jeanne A. (Labbe) Demers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday July 7, 2018 at 10am at the Holy Family Church in Gorham with interment to follow in the Holy Family Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday, July 6 from 6-8pm at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade Street, Gorham, NH.
