Robert D. Wood

Mr. Robert D. Wood, 90, of Berlin, NH passed away on Sunday August 23, 2009 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Claremont, NH on August 13, 1919 the son of William F. Wood, Sr. and Elizabeth M. (Foisy) Wood and lived most of his life in Berlin. He was a US Air Force Veteran of World War II and had been employed by New England Tel & Tel for 36 years, retiring in 1982 as a lineman. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, the VFW Post #2520, the Ryan-Scammon Post #36 American Legion and St. Kieran Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish. Members of the family include a daughter Mrs. Donna J. Plum of Boston, MA; a son William G. Wood of Londonderry, NH; 2 granddaughters; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mildred M. Wood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday August 27, 2009 at 11 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the New City Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.
