Robert Bob Desilets

Berlin, NH

Robert "Bob" Desilets of Highland Park Avenue passed away peacefully at home on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 where he rejoined his loving wife Beverly of 61 years. He was 86 years of age.

Born on August 21, 1930 in Berlin he was the son of Albert and Erma (Demers) Desilets.

Bob served in the U. S. Marines during the Korean War from 1951 through 1954.

After returning from the war he married Beverly Haynes on November 20, 1954. He and Beverly raised three children. After 43 years he retired from James River Corporation where he was employed as an Auto Diesel Mechanic.

His greatest love was his family; he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He could always be found at one of his children or grandchildrens sporting events. His greatest joy was supporting his grandchildren in all their life endeavors. He and Beverly loved spending time at their camp on Dodge Pond. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and doing puzzles. He was best described as a real stand-up man, with endless patience and a voice that was never raised; giver of the best hugs and the shirt off his back.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years Beverly Haynes; and his brother Maurice Desilets.

Bob leaves behind his son Robert "Bobby" Desilets and Donna of Gorham; daughters Cheryl Croteau of Milan, and Stacy Poirier and husband David of Berlin; six grandchildren Sandy Lafferty and husband Ryan, Robbie Desilets, Jesse Croteau, Jodie Croteau, Ryan Poirier and wife Jennifer, Kara Poirier and companion Adam Young; two great-grandchildren, Marissa and Adam Lafferty; a brother Alfred (Jerry) Desilets and wife Jeannette; two sisters, Theresa Charrette and Rita Gagetta, and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services. Arrangements are under the care of Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, Berlin.
