Rita M (Caron) Giroux

Rita M. (Caron) Giroux passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, June 22, 2018 at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center after being there for only three months. She was 95 years old.



Born in Berlin on December 30, 1922 she was the daughter of Joseph Hormidas and Lea (Lemieux) Caron. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish, now Good Shepherd Parish. Her greatest joy was her family; she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a seamstress and she also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking her famous soup.



Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Leonard Giroux who passed away in August 1994; her son Maurice who passed away in January 2018; a grandson Jarod Giroux who passed away in March 1988; brothers, Gerard , Ernest, Normand and Laurent Caron; sisters, Marguerite Caron, Jeanne Caron, Anne Marie (Caron) Berthiaume and Cecile (Caron) Berthiaume.



She leaves behind her sons Gerard Giroux and wife Terry (Arenburg) of Berlin, Normand Giroux of Berlin and daughter Marguerite and husband Larry Garon of Berlin and daughter in-law Melissa of Berlin; grandchildren, Marc Giroux, Jason Giroux, Lorie Mefford, Michael Giroux, Michelle Hartshorn, Steven Giroux, Kim Coulombe, Justin Scott and Kliff Scott; great-grandchildren Noah Giroux, Harley Giroux, Hunter Giroux, Jitts Giroux, Haley Kelso, Megan Mefford, Deven Giroux, Gavin Demers, Nick Hartshorn, Brandon Hartshorn, Cassie Hartshorn, Ryan Giroux, Emile Coulombe, Julia Coulombe and Kenna Scott; brothers Robert Caron and Maurice Caron and wife Camille; sisters, Madeleine (Caron) Baldassare, Therese (Caron) Theriault and Olive (Caron) and husband Norman Gagne; brother-in-law Gerard Berthiaume and wife Yvette; several nieces and nephews.



Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 25th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday, June 26th from 8:30am to 9:30am at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St, Berlin.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 26th at 10:00am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, Berlin. Interment will follow at St. Kierans Cemetery.



Donation in her memory may be made to Good Shepherd Parish, 151 Emery St, Berlin, or to a charity of ones choice.
