Richard W. Ross

Mr. Richard W. Ross, 76, of 18 Cascade Flats, Gorham, NH passed away on Friday evening March 14, 2008 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, NH. He was born in Gorham, NH on June 16, 1931 the son of Walter and Hazel (Hannaford) Ross and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Gorham High School and was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, Dick was employed by the Brown Company and James River Corporation for 37 1/2 years. He was a Life Member of the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW and a member of the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion in Gorham. Dick loved sports, he had played baseball for many years, played basketball and ran track in high school. Members of the family include his six children Alan Ross and his wife Linda of Kemp, TX, Carol Guay and her husband Rene, Susan Martin and her husband Dewey, Michael Ross and his wife Sue and Linda Ross, all of Gorham, NH and Brian Ross and his wife Ann Marie of Milan, NH; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a brother David Ross and his wife Cynthia of Jaffrey, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Voisine) Ross on Oct. 3, 2005, by a brother Robert Ross and by his sister Louise George. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning March 18, 2008 at 10 AM at Holy Family Church in Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the Mt. Hayes Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade Street, Gorham, NH on Monday evening from 6 to 9 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
