Richard Lee Allen

Richard Lee Allen, 69, of Gorham, NH passed away on August 17, 2016 at his home surrounded by family after a yearlong battle with lung cancer.

Richard was born in Berlin, NH, on April 28, 1947, a son of the late Leo A. and Germaine Marie (Larochelle) Allen. He attended local schools, and on September 18, 1993 married Diane (Downs).

Richard was employed with Crown Vantage as a Core Room Helper from 1975 to 1994.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His greatest love was his family, he was a very loving, caring and devoted, father. Richard was a member of Holy Family Church, Local 75 and he was the inside guard of the Eagles Club his hobbies included fishing, gardening and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed watching fireworks. He always enjoyed teaching his great-nieces new things.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Diane (Downs) of Gorham, NH; two daughters, Barbara Peabody of Berlin, NH and Connie Gioia and husband Robert of East Thetford, VT.; four grandchildren Alyshia McKinstry, Bradley Perry and Matthew Perry all of Thetford, VT, Brett Chaloux of Berlin, NH; four great-grandchildren and another one due to arrive in December; four brothers; three sisters; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday August 20th from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street in Berlin. Burial will be held at a later date at Mt. Hayes Cemetery, Gorham, NH
