Mr. Richard A. Blackburn, 81, of 6 High Street, Gorham, NH passed away on Sunday October 28, 2007 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, NH. He was born in Berlin, NH on August 11, 1926 the son of Adrian and Winifred (Pope) Blackburn and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and had worked for the paper mill for 38 years, retiring from James River Corporation. He was a member of Holy Family Church, the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion, was an avid skier and golfer. He loved the North Country and the four seasons. Members of the family include his wife Priscilla (Morneau) Blackburn of Gorham, NH; 2 daughters Lisa M. Stiteler and her husband Stephen of Lakeville, MA and Kim Morneau Blackburn-Bowen, Esq., and her husband Robert J. Bowen of Beverly Hills, CA; 2 grandchildren Alexandria and Oliver Stiteler; sisters-in-law Lorraine Blackburn of Dover, NH and Jeannette Morneau of Gorham, NH; brother-in-law Richard Morneau of Lebanon, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother William Blackburn and 2 sisters Gloria Rouland and Joyce Gallant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday October 31, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church in Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade Street, Gorham, NH on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
