Real E Bernard

Real E Bernard, 77, of 4th Avenue, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 13, 2013 at his home.

Real was born in Berlin, NH on April 30, 1936 the son of the late John and Juliette (Nadeau) Bernard.

He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1954.

In February, 1964 he married Leah Rabidas of Berlin.

As a young boy Real worked on the family farm and in the woods with his father and brothers. Later he went on to work for, Lavigne's Red Wing Trucking and Sunoco Oil Transportation. He and his brother, Paul, owned and operated Bernard Readi Mix. He retired from Isaacson Container, Inc. in 1998. He was currently working at Gosselin Hot Tubs.

He was a member of St Joseph Parish which later became Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin, NH. He was also a member of Quail Hollow Social Club, The Fraternal Order of Eagles and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His greatest love was his family. He was a very loving, caring and devoted, father and husband. He and his wife, Leah, have spent several years in Florida during the winter months and in Berlin during the summer months. They stayed busy doing many of the things they loved dancing, walking, swimming, crossword puzzles, horseshoes, shuffleboard, playing cards with friends and spending time at Pike Pond.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Leah (Rabidas) Bernard, two daughters, Bunny Turgeon and her husband Lionel of Milan NH, Patty Bermudez and husband Rocky of New Brittian, CT, Four sons, Ray Pare and wife Louise of Jefferson, NH, Ivan Pare and wife Diana of Fairfield, PA, David Bernard of Berlin, NH and Robert Bernard of Stark, NH. He also leaves behind one brother, Paul Bernard and wife Linda of Dummer, NH, three sisters, Cecile Bernard of Beneta Springs FL, Lorette Theberge of Berlin and Diane Bernard and partner Jill of Rochester, NH, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren several nieces, nephews and cousins which he cherished deeply.

He was predeceased in death by his parent and two brothers, Marcel Bernard and John Bernard Jr.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am at St. Anne's Church of Good Shepherd Parish on Monday, June 17, 2013. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
