Raymond W. Peters, age 68, formerly of High Street died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at St. Vincent De Paul Nursing Home in Berlin.

Born on August 10, 1942, he was the son of Dexter and Eva (Peters) Middleton.

He grew up in Berlin and attended St. Joseph School.

He worked at Converse Rubber Company until its closing and then Yeild House Furniture in North Conway. He retired in July 2003 from White Mountain Lumber Company.

Ray's joys in life in his younger years were hiking the Appalachian Mountians and being a member of the 4000 foot club. He was an avid bowler. He enjoyed watching hockey and could always be found at the Notre Dame Arena watching his niece and nephews playing hockey. He was a big fan of the Berlin Maroons and Montreal Canadians.

He is survived by his brothers: Michael Middleton and his wife Debbie, Robert Middleton and his wife Judy all of Berlin, Charles Middleton and his wife Donna and David Middleton and his wife Sally all of West Milan. Several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10am Monday, August 23 at the family plot at St. Anne's Cemetery, Berlin. There are no calling hours.
