Mr. Raymond George Blais, 84, formerly of 812 Kent St., Berlin, NH passed away on Sunday evening June 11, 2006 at the St. Vincent de Paul Healthcare Center. He was born in Berlin, NH on July 22, 1921 the son of Adolphus and Lydia (Guimond) Blais and was a lifelong resident. Mr. Blais was a graduate of Berlin High School and was a US Army veteran of WW2. His employment included working for the Brown Company for several years, hauling wood and lastly was the owner and operator of Jim & Jerrys Taxi until his disability. He was a member of the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW, where he was very involved with the post, had served as Quarter Master and was responsible for starting the Bingos at the VFW. Mr. Blais was a member of St. Kieran Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish. Members of the family include a daughter Sharon Eimers and her husband Pat of Perrysburg, OH; 5 sons Jim Blais and his wife Ginny of Berlin, Jerry Blais and his wife Bridgette of Berlin, Robert Blais and his wife Adele of Manchester, NH, Ricky Blais and his wife Linda of Cambridge, NH and Raymond Blais of Raleigh, NC; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Eleanor (Griffin) Blais, 2 granddaughters Lori Blais and Ashley Fournier, a brother Adolphus Blais Jr. and by a sister Pearl Remington. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning June 14, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH on Tuesday afternoon and evening June 13, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in his memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Healthcare Center Glider Fund, 29 Providence Ave., Berlin, NH 03570.
