Raymond G Binette

Raymond Gerard Binette Sr, 77, of Overlook Road passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston MA following a period of declining health.

Born on March 23, 1936 in Black Lake, P.Q. Canada , he was the son of Joseph Thomas and Valerie Lea (Turcotte) Binette.

At age 4, along with his family, they moved to Sanford, Maine, where he attended St. Ignatius School until the 6th grade. In 1951, they then moved back to Canada where he started in business with father Joseph and his brother Roland.

In 1954, he moved to Berlin, NH, where started as an electrical contractor and re-winding electric motors.

In 1955, he met the love of his life, Muriel Pomerleau and on May 25, 1957, they were united in marriage. Together they raised five children. Muriel passed away May 5, 2010.

Along with his wife Muriel, they founded Ray's Electric, Inc., in Berlin, NH which they operated with their three sons. Ray served as President of the Company. Today, the business is now operated by their two sons.

He enjoyed spending time with his family at their summer home at Nay Pond and at their winter home in New Smyrna Beach, FL. He enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, walks on the beach, down- hill and cross country skiing, tending to his rose gardens and blue berry fields, wine making, and carpentry.

Raymond will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Besides his wife, he is pre-deceased by three brothers Antonio, Robert, and Roland, and a sister Suzanne.

He leaves behind his children: Raymond G. Binette, Jr., of Milan, NH, Debra A. Davis and her husband Arnold of Milan, NH, Denis R. Binette and his wife Laurie of Milan NH , Diane M. Montelin and her husband James of Milan, NH and Steven M. Binette and his wife Penny of Milan NH. 13 Grandchildren, Katie Halle, Shana Binette, Samantha Binette, Zachary Binette, Chantal Bedard, Auston J. (AJ) Davis, Sarah Binette, Marissa Binette, Jay Montelin, Maegan Montelin, Justin Montelin, Dalton Binette, Rylie Binette, Four great- grandchildren Arayanna Bedard, Blake Bedard, Conor Pryor, and Addison Sullivan. A brother Andy Binette and his wife Claudette of Gorham, Four sisters Theresa L'Heureux and her husband Robert Sanford, ME, Francoise Desrochers of Sanford, ME, Pauline Peters and her husband Donald of Sanford, ME and Madeleine Desmarais of Lake Brompton, P.Q. Canada. Many nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm and on Wednesday from 8:30am to 9:30am (prior to the mass) at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street in Berlin using the School Street entrance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Berlin.
