Raymond F. Parent

Mr. Raymond F. Parent, 85, of 690 Lancaster Street, Berlin, NH passed away on Wednesday April 1, 2009 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Berlin on April 24, 1923 the son of Rosaire and Victoria (Morel) Parent and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Berlin High School with the Class of 1940 and served with U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the owner of The Music Box, worked for his father at Parent Service Station and then was employed by the local paper mill. He was a former member of Guardian Angel Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish, the Holy Name Society where he was a past president and the Ryan-Scammon Post # 36 American Legion in Berlin. He loved music, was a former racer, walked 4-5 miles a day and enjoyed reading and watching sports. Members of the family include his wife Therese (Nadeau) Parent of Berlin, NH; 3 sons Denis Parent and wife Coulette of Merrimack, NH, Louis Parent and wife Joan of Berlin, NH and Claude Parent and wife Janine of Salem, NH; 1 daughter Lise Beaulac of Berlin, NH; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother Leon Parent of Berlin, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Irene Boisvert and a brother Richard Parent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 8, 2009 at 11AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin. Interment will be in St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
