Raymond F. Albert, formerly of Poplar Street, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at NH Veterans Home in Tilton, NH following a period of declining health. He was 87.



Born on November 23, 1922 in Berlin, NH he was the son of John and Mary Jane (Boucher) Albert.



He attended Berlin Schools.



During WWII, he served in the US Army Air Corps.



He worked for Brown Company in the planning and estimating department, retiring in 1985 from James River Corp.



An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of the Androscoggin Valley Golf Course.



He enjoyed playing cribbage, fishing at Big Greeno in Northern NH, and loved to visit with family and friends at Little Fields Beach in Maine.



He was a communicant of St. Kieran Parish now known as St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, a life member of Berlin VFW Post 2520, American Legion Post #82, DAV, and the Eagles.



His wife Elizabeth (Rosenberg) Albert, a son SGT Daniel Albert and two brothers George and Stanley Albert all pre-deceased him.



Survivors include two sons Steven Albert of Berlin and David Albert and his wife Karin of Laconia

A daughter Gail Lachance and her husband Zephir of Hooksett

4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren

And a sister Jeannette Burlock of Florida



A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, January 29 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Burial will follow at the family plot at Russian City Cemetery.



Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St., Berlin.(Use School St. entrance).
