Rachel E. Therriault

Rachel E. Therriault passed away on November 16, 2010 at the Country Village Health Care Center, where she had resided for the past 2 years. She was born in Canada on November 18, 1922 to Alfred and Marie (St. Pierre) Morency and moved to Berlin as a child. She lived in the Berlin-Gorham area the rest of her life. She was married to Adrien Therriault and together they raised four children. Rachel worked for 10 years in the billing department at the Mountain Health Services. She taught CCD for several years and volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Society for 17 years. She was a communicant of Guardian Angel Parish, now known as Good Shepherd Parish. Rachel loved to do expert level crossword puzzles and she loved to read before her vision failed her. Her greatest enjoyment in life was anytime spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Members of the family include her daughters Elaine Nylander and husband Herb of Inman, SC and Doreen Boucher and husband Don of Gorham, NH; sons Robert Therriault and wife Janine of Milan, NH and James Therriault and wife Mary of Dover, NH; 7 grandchildren Kristen (Boucher) Jutras, Erik Nylander, Brian, Jake, Jodie, Jaime and Jessie Therriault; 4 great-grandchildren Alex and Katie Jutras, Jake and Emma Nylander; 3 sisters Pierette Murphy, Mary LeClair and Therese Pouliot and 1 brother John Morency; brother-in-law Armand Theriault and sister-in-law Georgette Morency; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Adrien Therriault in 1985, a sister Emelienne Pouliot and a brother Marcel Morency. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday November 18, 2010 at 3 PM at Holy Family Church in Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham on Thursday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, Rachel requested that donations be sent in her memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society, Country Village Health Care Center Activities Dept., or to the Macular Degeneration Research Center, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD, 20871
