Priscilla E. Murphy, 93, of Gorham, NH, passed away on Monday September 4, 2017 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. She was born in Rumford, ME on May 12, 1924 the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Ethridge) Farwell and was raised in Bethel, ME. She graduated from Andover High School in Andover, ME and had lived in Rangeley, ME before moving to Gorham, NH in 1962. Priscilla had been employed as a waitress at Wilfreds Restaurant and at the Fireside Restaurant and had also worked at Newton-Tibbetts. She was a member of the Bethel Historical Society and had a passion for the Bethel and Andover history and was an encyclopedia of knowledge in this regard. Priscilla was also a fine quilter and an avid reader. Family includes her children OBrien (Ben) Murphy and wife Joanne of Gorham, NH, Roberta Fontaine and husband Roger of Splendora, TX and Rhody Sprague and husband Chuck of Dexter, OR; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert G. Murphy, son Patrick Murphy and brothers Robert Farwell and Stephen Stearns. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday September 10, 2017 at 3 PM at the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC, in Gorham. Interment will be in the Mt. Will Cemetery in Bethel, ME. There will be no calling hours. The Bryant Funeral Home in Gorham is in charge of the arrangements.
