Philip R. Bedard, 90, of Berlin, NH passed away on Sunday April 27, 2014 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Berlin on March 6, 1924 the son of the late Horace J. and Olivette (Lemire) Bedard and was a lifelong resident. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II where he served on the USS Boise. He served in the Navy for 12 years, and was involved with the Civilian Conservation Corps. Philip had been employed by Brown Company and James River Corp retiring in 1986. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, was a Life Member of the VFW Post #2520 where he was a former District Commander, was a member of the F. O. E. and a member of Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion in Gorham. Family includes his daughter Jacqueline Bergeron and husband Walter of Cannan, NH, Diane Vigue and husband Joseph of Berlin and Ellen Labrecque and husband Paul of Berlin; sons Philip E. Bedard and Warren Bedard of Berlin, NH; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara (Leonard) Bedard, a brother Raymond Bedard and a daughter-in-law Lorraine Bedard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 3 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the St. Anne Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Friday May 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Donations may be made in his memory to The Ecumenical Food Pantry, PO Box 570, Berlin, NH 03570.
