Philip L. Rasys

Philip L. Rasys, 72, of Mesquite, Nevada and formerly of Berlin, NH, passed away on June 29, 2016. Mr. Rasys was born in Berlin on June 17, 1944, a son of the late George J. and Eunice (Hardie) Rasys. Philip lived in Berlin most of his life and was a graduate of Berlin High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for six years and was stationed on the USS Enterprise. After serving in the Navy, he returned to Berlin to work at the family restaurant and then as a truck driver for Walmart until his retirement. He moved to Nevada in the summer of 2011. Phil is survived by two daughters; Shelley Hunt and her husband Donald of Panaca, NV and Echo Groves and her husband Steven of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers; Everett Rasys and George Rasys Jr.; two sisters; Isabel Sousa and Constance Rasys; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Rita M. (Jutras) Rasys on February 15, 2016 and a brother John Rasys. Graveside Services will be held on Friday October 7, 2016 at 2 PM at the Russian City City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bryant Funeral Home in Berlin.
