Mrs. Pauline F. Abbott, 75, of Albany, NH passed away on Sunday April 11, 2010 at the Veterans Home in Tilton, NH. She was born in West Milan, NH on December 22, 1934 the daughter of Colin M. and Dorothy (Lorry) Prescott and was educated in the Berlin School System. She entered the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and during her military service, she married Dirk Reed. She later returned to the area with her second husband, David Foote, where she lived for many years in the Berlin-Gorham area. In 1987, she married George Abbott and moved to Conway, NH, where she resided until entering the Veterans Home in Tilton in 2007. She loved the outdoors, going to flea markets and had her own store in North Conway called Pollys Treasures. She enjoyed her family and traveling with her fifth wheel camper. Pauline was a simple person who enjoyed what she had and was a social person who knew a lot of people. She had been employed at the Berlin Post Office in her younger years, worked for Brown Company, did foster care and worked at Head Start driving the bus. She ran the Gorham Community Center which is where she met her husband, George. Members of the family include her husband George Abbott of Albany, NH; daughters Penny Reed and partner Carolyn DeBell of Swanzey, NH, Terri Reed of Springfield, TN, Wendy Foote of Albany, NH, Judi Montgomery of Essex Jct, VT and Lori Meserve and fiance Christopher of Milton Mills, NH; son Timothy Foote and wife Luz of Iowa; stepsons James Abbott and wife Sandra of Madison, NH and George Abbott, Jr. of East Conway, NH; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Walter Prescott of West Milan, NH and C. Jack Prescott of Rochester, NH; 2 sisters Olive Turner of Rangeley, ME and Jennie Call of Berlin, NH; 1 aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside Services with Full Military Honors will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in West Milan, NH on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 3:00 PM. There will be no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation, 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136. The Bryant Funeral Home in Berlin is in charge of the arrangements.
