Mr. Paul E. Grondin, 87, of 6 Elm Street, Gorham, NH passed away on November 3, 2005 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born on September 16, 1918 in Paquetteville, PQ, Canada, the son of Albert and Alberta (Dodier) Grondin and has resided in the Berlin and Gorham area since 1952. Prior to his retirement Mr. Grondin worked as a Canadian Customs Officer, worked as a dairy craftsman, worked in road construction, as a carpenter and owned and operated The Grondin Block in Groveton. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, enjoyed fishing, berry picking and going for rides. He loved his grandchildren and was proud of them all. Members of his family include his wife Orphise (Marchesseault) Grondin of Gorham, NH; two sons Roger Grondin and his wife Debbie of Londonderry, NH and Louis Grondin and his wife Carol of Lee, NH; two daughters Lise Danault and her husband Ron of Berlin, NH and Suzanne French and her husband Mel of Gorham, NH; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters Olivette Grondin and Therese Fauteux both of Coaticook, PQ, Canada; a brother Maurice Grondin of Canaan, VT; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings Charles Grondin, Rudolph Grondin, Fernande Beloin, Pauline Pariseau, Claude Grondin, Jules Grondin and was also predeceased by two great grandchildren Chandler Morgan and Emma Bennett. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Church in Gorham. Interment will be in the Mt. Hayes Cemetery in Gorham, NH at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade Street in Gorham on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 PM and on Tuesday morning from 9 to 10 AM just prior to the Funeral Mass. Anyone who wishes may make a donation to AV Home Care Services, 795 Main Street, Berlin, NH 03570 in his memory.
