Patrick H. Murphy

Patrick H. Murphy, 78, of Gorham, passed away on Friday May 19, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer at his home. He was born in Berlin on July 28, 1938 the son of George and Elizabeth (Bass) Murphy and was a lifelong resident of the Berlin-Gorham area. Pat was a graduate of Gorham High School with the class of 1956. He served the US Navy and had been employed by Brown Company and James River Corp. as a millwright and plant engineer. Pat was a member of the American Legion Post #82 in Gorham and was a member of Holy Family Church. Family includes his wife Jeannette (Parent) Murphy of Gorham; sons Michael P. Murphy and wife Nancy of Gorham and Timothy G. Murphy and wife Chasity of Gorham; daughter Elaine L. Riendeau and husband Scott of Gorham; grandchildren, great grandchildren; sister Helen Merrill; as well as his brother from another mother Normand Labonville and wife Bonnie of Gorham. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 27, 2017 at 11 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM and on Saturday morning from 10-11 AM, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Weeks Memorial Hospital Oncology Department.
