Patricia Bacon, 66, of Milan, NH, passed away at home on October 29, 2021 surrounded by her rescued fir babies. She was born in Bayonne, NJ on October 21, 1955, the daughter of Theodore and Barbara (Seaman) Matkowski.
Patricia graduated from Quinnipiac nursing school in 1983, worked as a registered nurse, and spent most of her career working in a brain injury rehabilitation unit at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britton, CT. She moved to Jefferson, NH in 2000, where she enjoyed raising cashmere goats. Patricia went to an equine driving school to become a teamster and “Mule Skinner”, demonstrating farming techniques with her white mules at Northeast Animal Powered Field Days. Patricia participated in many local parades, gave wagon rides at the Jefferson Christmas Festivals, and competed in the working draft classes at the Lancaster Fair.
Family includes her significant other, Kurt Masters of Milan, NH; sister Lynn and husband John Ahearn of Wallingford, CT; son Robert L. Bacon; daughter Katie Lynn and husband Mark Dziedzic of West Hartford, CT; granddaughter Siena; as well as aunts, a niece and cousins.
As Patricia requested, there will be no funeral services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bryant & Fleury-Patry Funeral Home in Berlin, NH. Those who wish may make a donation in her memory to their local animal rescue shelter.
A celebration of Patricia’s Life will be held August 27 & 28, 2022 at Pat’s annual Bean Hole Chili Picnic, at her former farm in Jefferson, NH.
