Oscar J. "OJ" Carrier, a lifelong resident of Grafton Street died Sunday, November 21, 2010 at his home following a period of declining health. He was 84.

Born on July 25, 1926 in Berlin, he was the son of Wilbrod and Maria ( Bourgeault) Carrier.

He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Berlin.

During World War II, he served in the US Navy. He served in the Pacific Theatre in the Philippines.

After the War, he enrolled at Hesser College in Manchester, NH and graduated with an Accounting Degree.

On Sept 23, 1950, he married Rita L. Roberge. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.

He was employed as an accountant with Brown Company in Berlin and the successor companies Crown Vantage and James River Corp.

He was a communicant of Guardian Angel Parish now known as St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin.

Known as an organizer, he founded the Neighborhood horseshoe league and was instrumental in the formation of Berlin Youth Hockey Association.

He was a member of the Berlin Eagles Club.

Besides his parents, he is preceded by a brother Henry Carrier and three sisters Theresa Carrier, Doris Dupuis, and Yvette Dinardo.

He was loved by all and leaves his wife of 60 years Rita L. (Roberge) Carrier of Berlin

Three sons: Donald Carrier and his wife Linda of Manchester, NH Dennis Carrier and his wife Laurie of Berlin, NH Roger Carrier and his wife Cindy of Berlin, NH

Three Daughters Elaine Larrivee and her husband John of Berlin Theresa McCauley and her husband Ron of Gorham Lisa Poulin and her husband David of Berlin

Grandchildren: Brian Carrier, Jason Carrier, Corey Carrier and his wife Brianna, Kelly Dube and her husband Ray, Krystal Carrier, Joel Carrier, Ethan Carrier, Tracy Cropley, Karen Lunn and her husband Chris, Craig McCauley, Renee McCauley, Blain Poulin, Brandon Poulin, and Brianna Poulin.

Great-Grandchildren: Kennedy & Cole Carrier, Evan & Emmy Dube & Teah Hickey.

Sisters: Alice Labonte of Berlin and Jeanne Hermsdorf of Manchester, NH

Several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Saturday, November 27 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Rev Mark E. Dollard will officiate. Interment will be at St. Anne Cemetery in Berlin.

Calling hours will be Friday, November 26 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH (Use School Street Entrance).
