Oliva Riendeau

June 15, 1936 — November 21, 2014

Oliva Riendeau of Burgess Street passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin following a period of declining health. He was 78.

Born on June 15, 1936 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of Hormidas and Eleanore (Bourassa) Riendeau.

A lifelong resident of Berlin, he attended Guardian Angel School and was a communicant of Guardian Angel Parish now St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish.

In earlier years, he was employed at the Brown Company and then was employed as a janitor for many years at Isaacson Steel Company. He retired from New Hampshire Public Service.

His past times included hunting, fishing, and ceramic crafts. He will be remembered best known for his gardening from which he canned Dill and Hot Pickles and Crab apple jelly which he often would give to others.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by brothers Robert, Arthur, and Armand Riendeau and sister-in-law Bertha Riendeau.

He leaves his wife of 23 years Dolores H. Riendeau; his twin sister Olivette Riendeau and sister Stella Duchesne all of Berlin; brothers and sister in laws: Pauline Costa and partner Ernest Vienneau, Henri Riendeau and wife Lise, Pauline Riendeau, Claire Riendeau and Larry Riendeau and wife Rita all of Berlin. Several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, November 26th at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Rev. Andrew K. Nelson, Parochial Vicar will officiate. Burial will be at St. Kieran's Cemetery in Berlin.

Calling hours are 2-4pm and 6-8pm Tuesday, Nov 25 and from 8:30 am to 9:30am Wednesday morning (prior to the mass) at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH.
