Mr. Norman E. Croteau, 82, of 580 Western Avenue, Berlin, NH passed away on Monday January 21, 2008 at the Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH. He was born in Berlin, NH on February 5, 1925 the son of Albert and Georgiana (Aubin) Croteau and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II and had been employed by Brown Company and James River Corporation, retiring at 62. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish, a Life Member of the VFW Post # 2520 Berlin, a Life Member of the DAV Chapter 2, the American Legion Post # 36 and a former member of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed playing cribbage, which he did daily at the VFW. Members of the family include his wife Irene (Leveille) Croteau of Berlin, NH; 4 sons Francis Croteau of Berlin, NH, Henry Croteau of Lovell, ME, Richard Croteau of Tampa, FL, Michael Croteau of Bruce, FL; 1 daughter Paullette Chagnon of Pittsfield, NH; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Alice Turmel of Concord, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, 1 brother Edmond and 1 sister Cecile. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 26, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the AV Home Care, 795 Main Street, Berlin, NH, 03570.
