Norbert A Lessard

Berlin, NH

Norbert Lessard of Third Avenue passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was 91.

Born on March 2, 1923 in Berlin, NH he was the son of Wilfred and Bernadette (Morel) Lessard.

On September 16, 1950 he married Jeannine Lesperance and together they raised three sons and a daughter.

From 1943 through 1945 Norbert served in WWII with the U.S. Army as a Radio Operator.

Norbert started out as a machinist, then a draftsman and finally worked in Design for over 50 years at Berlin Foundry and Machine Company, he retired in 1989.

He was a gifted painter, he loved Art. He enjoyed photography and developing his own prints in his dark room. Although his passion was painting and art he also enjoyed playing the Violin, woodworking, drawing and doing handi-work around the house.

He is pre-deceased by his parents, his wife Jeannine (2012), his brothers Paul, Roland and Richard Lessard.

Norbert leaves behind three sons Bruce Lessard and wife Leanor of Endicott, NY, Ronald Lessard and his wife Mary of Princeton, NJ, Gregory Lessard of West Milan, NH and daughter Nancy (Lessard) Morton of Berlin, NH; 7 grandchildren Gregory Lessard and wife Melissa of Denver, CO, Keith Lessard of Endicott, NY, Jeffrey Lessard of Berlin, NH, Max Lessard of Princeton, NJ, Kimberly Rivard and husband Dan of Berlin, NH, Niall Lessard of Princeton NJ, Zoe Lessard of Princeton, NJ; 5 great-grandchildren Margaret, Ella, Madyson, Weston and Penelope; a brother Edward Lessard and wife Giselle of Gorham, NH; two sisters Doris Hynes of Plainfield, NH and Lorraine Thomas of Kennebunk, ME. Several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 5th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday, February 6th from 8:30am to 9:30am at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH 03570.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 6th at 10:00am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin, NH with Father Andrew Nelson as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Kieran's Cemetery, Berlin, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to Good Shepherd Parish, PO Box 570, Berlin, NH 03570.
