Maurice Mutt Allain

Maurice "Mutt" Allain of Third Avenue passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, April 6, 2018 followed a brief illness. He was 72 years old.



Born in Berlin, on November 29, 1945 he was the son of Henry and Julia (Poirier) Allain. He graduated from Notre Dame High School, class of 1963, and received his associated degree at the New Hampshire Technical College in Manchester. He served in the National Guard for 6 years. He was employed by Crown Vantage for 32 years, retiring in 2000.



On June 17, 1967 he married Jeanne Morin and together they raised three children. In his younger years he participated in many weight lifting competitions. He could always be found on the mound of a softball field or on a green at the golf course. He and Jeanne also enjoyed many years traveling on their motorcycle. In more recent years they were able to enjoy their winters in Florida.



Mutt was a very generous man; he loved his family and was very selfless and dedicated. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and never wanted recognition for what he did. He got his greatest joy from helping others.



Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son Chris who passed away in 2006.



He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years Jeanne (Morin) Allain of Berlin; two sons Keith Allain and wife Shannon of Laconia, NH, and Kevin Allain of Berlin, NH; Six grandchildren, Nicholas, Noah, Jocelyn, Jillian, Dominic and Emma; Uncle Ernest Allain and Aunt Priscilla Landrigan; his daughter-in-law Michelle Allain-Newton; a sister-in-law Jeannette Labonte and her husband Leo; two nieces, a nephew and several cousins.



Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm and on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 8:30am-9:30am at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH 03570.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 10th at 10:00am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will follow at St. Kierans Cemetery.



A memory in his donation may be made to Good Shepherd Parish or to a charity of ones choice.
