Maurice G. Leclerc of Burgess St. in Berlin passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at home. He was 85.

Born on November 18, 1926 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of Joseph and Laurence (Leblanc) Leclerc.

Maurice attended local Schools.

On August 23, 1952 he married Gertrude Marguerite Rheaume and together they raised two sons and three daughters.

For 43 years, he worked in the local mills as a millwright and retired from James River Corporation in 1986.

He was a communicant of Angel Guardian Church in Berlin now known as St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish.

In retirement, Maurice traveled extensively with his wife Gertrude including a European Pilgrimage, Alaska, California, and Bermuda. He was also an avid youth hockey fan.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Gertrude in 2006, a son Henri (Hank) Leclerc, a daughter Annemarie Leclerc, a grandson Alex Higgins, a sister Pauline Routhier and a brother in law Lionel Routhier.

Survivors include his son Ron Leclerc and his wife Sue of Gilmanton, NH, two daughters Rachel Higgins and her husband Paul of Bedford, NH, and Elaine Bizier and her husband Luc of Berlin; Grandchildren: Henri "Hank" Leclerc of Sitka, Alaska, Danielle Lemieux and her husband Rob of Berlin, Ryan K. Leclerc of Edwards, CO, Eric M. Higgins of Bedford, NH, Kelsey Davidson of Anchorage, Alaska, Joseph Bizier of Berlin, NH and Martin Higgins of Bedford, NH. Two great-grandsons: Noah and Kody. A daughter-in-law Nancy Leclerc Davidson and her husband Bill of Sitka, Alaska.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 22 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Rev. Kyle Stanton will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Kieran Cemetery in Berlin.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 PM on Tuesday, August 21 at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH., using the School Street entrance.
