Mary (Shopiak) Morneau, 91, of Berlin, passed away on Monday April 6, 2015 at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born in Plains, PA on December 22, 1923 the daughter of Samuel and Kcenia (Kushner) Shopiak and moved to Berlin in 1945. She had been employed by Pratt & Whitnesy in E. Hartford, CT, United State Envelope in Rockville, CT and as a stitcher for Converse Rubber Company. Mary loved cooking and baking for her husband and family, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting and camping at Mousselookmeguntic Lake in ME. She loved people and was very sociable. Family includes her daughters Ann Gosselin and husband Roland of Berlin, NH and Rita Ketay and husband Elliott of Wilmington, DE; son John Morneau and wife Pamela of Brunswick, ME; grandchildren Brian Gosselin and wife Jessie of Milton, NH, Kevin Gosselin and wife Cindy of Rochester, NH, Jake Odell and wife Heather of Albany, NH, Josh Odell and wife Paula of Germantown, MD, Kristen Getbehead and husband Jon of Tacoma, WA, Aaron Morneau and wife Caitlin of Alexandria, VA and Jared Morneau of Brunswick, ME; great-grandchildren Jordan , Andrew and Elizabeth Gosselin, Sophie and William Odell, Wesley and Desmond Odell, Dena, Hannah and Samuel Getbehead; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband J. Alfred Morneau and sisters Katheryn Tarasek, Anna Maciejko and Alice Spak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 11, 2015 at 1 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Activity Fund, St. Anne Church or Northwoods Home Heath & Hospice.
