Mary Elizabeth "Bette" Mercier

Mary Elizabeth Bette Mercier, 83, of Promenade Street, Gorham, NH passed away on Monday morning April 29, 2013 at the St. Vincent de Paul Health and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin. She was born in Berlin, NH on August 5, 1929 the daughter of the late Leo and Frances (Landers) Jacques and has lived in Berlin, Errol and Gorham, NH all of her life. She wintered in Florida for many years. Bette was a graduate of Berlin High School with the class of 1947. She was a member of Holy Family Church. Members of the family include three daughters Judith Leblanc and husband Ray of Gorham, Susan Dumesnil and husband Alec of Berlin, Robin Judson and husband Jim of Lake Placid, FL ; and two sons Timothy Mercier and wife Rachel of Bradenton, FL and Old Orchard Beach, ME and Jeffrey Mercier and wife Janet of Berlin; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her best friend and companion, her dog Zachary. Bette was predeceased by her husband Rene Mercier, two sisters Irene Hynes and Ann Vashaw and by four brothers Gordon Jacques, Edward Jacques, Michael Guay and Gerald Jacques. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 4, 2013 at 10 AM at Holy Family Church, Gorham, NH. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, 29 Providence Ave., Berlin, NH 03570.
