Marie Simoneau (Andrews) Fournier, 82, of Gorham passed away at her home on Tuesday May 10, 2016. Mrs. Fournier was born in Berlin, NH on July 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Edward James and Doris Edna (Clark) Simoneau and was a lifelong resident of Gorham, graduating from Gorham High School in 1951. She owned and operated Medical Claims Services in Gorham for several years and retired in 2001 as Administrative Assistant of the Family Resource Center. She held various town offices including Supervisor of the Checklist, Trustee of Trust Funds and was on the Budget Committee. Marie was a Communicant of Holy Family Church, where she served as lector and was a member of the parish Council. She was also a member of Gorham Cooperative School Alumni Association and was past president of the Gorham Womans Club. Marie was especially proud of her French Canadian heritage. She is survived by her husband Ralph Fournier of Gorham; her children Lynn Chevarie and husband Donald of Berlin, James Andrews of Berlin, Sheila Swaney and husband Ray of Denton, NC; a sister Jane Goertz and husband Gordon Sr. of Spring Hill, FL; 4 grandchildren, Andrea Chevarie, Bryan Chevarie, Andrew king and Cody Andrews, 1 great grandchild Hunter King, stepchildren, Richard Fournier of Manchester, NH, Raymond Fournier of Orlando, FL and Pamela Anderson of Boston, MA; nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning May 16, at 10 AM at Holy Family Church. Interment will be in the Mt. Hayes Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham on Sunday evening from 6 to 8. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, Portland-Auburn ME Office, 80 Elm Street, Portland, ME 04101.
