Margaret Batchelder

Margaret (Dustin) Batchelder, 93, of Berlin, NH, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Coos County Nursing Home. She was born in Berlin on May 26, 1923 to Bertha (Clarke) and True Dustin. While maintaining a lifelong residence in Berlin, she also resided in Reading and North Andover Ma, Manchester, NH and Lumberton, NC. After retirement she wintered in Florida for several years. An energetic lady, she loved outdoor activity including walking, biking, skiing, golf, and as a young person, hiking the 4,000 footers. She was an avid reader and talented cook and seamstress. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Androscoggin Valley Country Club, and the AVH Auxiliary. She married Reginald Batchelder on January 2, 1946 and was a devoted and loving mother to her two children. Family included her daughter Carla Welch and husband Bill of Berlin, NH; grandchildren Jamie Welch (Gina) of Berlin, NH and Kacie (Brandon) of Somersworth, NH; brother Clarke Dustin of West Lebanon, NH; great grandsons Parker Welch and Kamden Tibbetts; several nieces and nephews and her special friend Patty King. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Charles Dustin, sisters Dorothea Nolette and Marjory Dustin, her husband Reginald Batchelder (2000) and her son Gary Batchelder (2014). A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers or donations, please perform an act of kindness in her memory. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
