Mae E. Goodrum

Mrs. Mae E. Goodrum, 86, of Gorham, NH passed away on Saturday morning April 23, 2011 at her daughters home, where she had been residing. She was born in Canaan, VT on May 1, 1924 the daughter of the late Philadelph B. Joe and Wilamena R. (McCarthy) Goodreau and was raised in Canaan and Beecher Falls, VT. She lived in Upton, ME from the late 1940s to 1982, when she moved to Colebrook, NH for a time before moving to Gorham, where she has resided for the last 25 years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Converse in Berlin and later by Tillotson Rubber in Dixville. Mae enjoyed playing bingo, flowers and her little dog Munchkin. She was the Matriarch of the family she so loved. Members of the family include her son Horace Goodrum of Upton, ME; 3 daughters Magel (Midge) Deblois and her husband Rudy of Berlin, NH, Melody Houle and her husband Patrick of Beecher Falls, VT and Michelle (Mike) Lutz and her husband Steve of Gorham, NH; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Horace Goodrum, a daughter Rosemary Goodrum, a son Autry Goodrum and by 9 brothers and sisters. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning April 27, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the Colebrook Village Cemetery later in the spring. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH on Tuesday April 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
