Mabel G. Brown, 94, a resident of Lancaster's Country Village Center for the last 4 years, passed away on Monday, July, 27th, 2015 after a 10 year decline with Alzheimer's disease.

Born in Berlin, NH, July 19th, 1921, she was the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Fontaine) Lemieux.

A lifelong resident of the Berlin/Gorham area, Mabel was a 1940 graduate of Notre Dame High School. For over 50 years, she lived, raised and enjoyed the company of her family, on Normand Ave. in Gorham.

She was employed by Granite State Rubber, Ware Knitters, Brabo Motor Inn, Edward Fenn Elementary School, and the Gorham Public Library.

Mabel was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church in Gorham. She was an avid reader and could regularly be found at the Gorham Public Library trying to find a book she had not already read, unless there was a Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, or Boston Bruins game on television. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she spent much of her time with her family who enjoyed her infectious laugh.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Brown of Berlin, daughters, Carol Brown of Gorham and Susan (Patry) Wilson of Shelburne; grandchildren, Holly Brown of Rhode Island, Christopher Brown and his wife Sonja of Texas, Cynthia (Patry) Vaughan and her husband Benjamin of Vermont, Jennifer (Patry) Thomas and her husband Ryan of Massachusetts, and Daniel Patry of New York; great-grandchildren, Trea Hart, Hunter and Avery Vaughan, and Aiden Thomas; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis C Brown in 1965; brothers, Joseph R. Lemieux in 1945 and Lafayette Lemieux in 1999, and a sister, Violet M. Lemieux in 2009.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 31st, 2015, 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church in Gorham. Rev. Kyle Stanton will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
